ABOUT CAIO MAYER
In 2026, I celebrate 15 years as a professional photographer. Long enough to understand that photography has never been only about images. To me, it has become a way of being in the world — a way of noticing what truly matters, of following the passing of time with greater attention, and of transforming what is lived into something that remains.

THE JOURNEY
This journey began in a concrete way in 2011. Since then, there have been countless assignments, encounters, and stories. Weddings, portrait sessions, families, maternity sessions, grand celebrations, behind-the-scenes moments, special projects, public figures, and artists. A path built through consistency, experience, and depth.
But among all of these, it was wedding photography that gave my visual language a true home. It was there that I learned, in the deepest sense, how to tell stories. It was there that light gained another meaning, that moments began to be read with greater sensitivity, and that photography stopped being only technique and became interpretation, presence, and legacy.
Perhaps that is why, even as my work expanded into other directions, its essence remained the same. Documentary projects, historical records, and long-form visual narratives all grew from this same way of seeing — a gaze trained to notice what lies beneath the surface.
In the end, I have always been drawn to the same thing: the truth that lives inside each story. Not a staged truth, not the urgency of appearances, but what genuinely deserves to remain.
PHOTOGRAPHY BECAME A WAY OF LIFE
Over the years, photography also moved far beyond the boundaries of work. It has shaped my entire life. I am Izabella’s husband and Alicia’s father, and it is within the life of my family that all of this has gained even greater meaning.
Photography became a way of life. It lives in the rhythm of our home, in the responsibility of providing, in the privilege of building, in the awareness of time, and in the value of the memories we leave behind and carry forward. It does not begin when the camera is turned on, and it does not end when the work is delivered. Photography lives with us.
EDUCATION
In recent years, this journey has opened space for a new chapter: education. After living photography so intensely for so long, I felt a growing desire to share direction, clarity, and experience with other photographers.
Today, that movement unfolds through content, courses, mentorships, consulting, and new digital projects, always with the intention of contributing to a stronger, more conscious, and more mature photography market. Not simply by teaching technique, but by helping build vision, structure, and longevity.
Between photographing and teaching, I continue pursuing the same search I have always had: finding meaning in what deserves to be remembered. With more experience, more perspective, and the same conviction that photography, when lived truthfully, can touch people’s lives in a profound way — including our own.
